Job Title: Health & Safety Manager ICI Construction Toronto

As we continue to grow we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team and help us maintain our high standards of safety excellence.

Position Overview: As the Health & Safety Manager you will be responsible for implementing and managing comprehensive health and safety programs to ensure the wellbeing of our employees subcontractors and the public. You will collaborate closely with project teams to identify and mitigate potential hazards promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the safety performance of our organization and contribute to the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate develop and manage health and safety policies procedures and programs in accordance with local provincial and federal regulations and industry best practices.
  • Update and maintain our existing COR certification.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards assess risks and ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams on health and safety matters including hazard identification risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Hire and train Health and Safety staff.
  • Coordinate safety training programs for employees and subcontractors ensuring all personnel are adequately trained to perform their work safely and effectively.
  • Investigate incidents accidents and near misses and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records of safetyrelated incidents inspections training and compliance activities.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies clients and other stakeholders on safetyrelated matters ensuring open communication and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends regulatory changes and emerging technologies to continuously improve the effectiveness of our health and safety programs.
  • Champion a culture of safety excellence throughout the organization promoting awareness engagement and accountability at all levels.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in health and safety management preferably in the construction industry.
  • NCSO and/or COR/ISO Internal Auditor certification strongly preferred.
  • Indepth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective health and safety programs and initiatives.
  • Experience conducting site inspections incident investigations and risk assessments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
  • Ability to work independently prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
