As a Senior Database Administrator you will:
- Perform routine installation reconfiguration and backups of databases across both onpremises and cloud environments.
- Develop and configure automation tools for streamlined database administration tasks.
- Define and implement strategies for database platform upgrades to ensure current technology utilization.
- Monitor database performance statistics and generate detailed reports.
- Analyze customer requirements to estimate implementation and operational costs effectively.
- Identify complex problems within database systems investigate these issues and recommend corrective actions.
Systems installation and removal (HSIN8)
- Undertakes or supervises complex installations and deinstallations of systems or components including handover to the client for onpremises and cloud environments.
- Develops procedures and standards for installation and handover to maintain and improve the installation service.
- Schedules installation work around client priorities and resource availability.
- Ensures adherence to established safety and quality procedures.
Database Management System (HTS0485) Level 4
- Creates a system to improve the security and efficiency of the database management system.
- Develops a theoretical understanding of a database management system including issues and considerations.
- Designs standards and policies to regulate database management system activities.
- Monitors database management system industry trends and market directions.
- Elaborates and presents information on issues and solutions for a wide range of database management system projects.
- Leads in the establishment of best practices for the database management system.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server with HA/DR support.
- A basic understanding of Oracle MySQL and PostgreSQL Database Administration.
- Current and indepth experience with Microsoft Windows server operating systems in a LANbased clientserver environment utilizing Active Directory Services/LDAP.
- Recent practical experience with Unix/Linux operating systems in addition to Microsoft Windows Servers.
- Familiarity with advanced architectures like server clustering and virtual infrastructures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of information processing web services storage facilities and practical experience in IT server and system architecture implementations.
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills with the capability to analyze issues extending beyond the database space.
- Awareness of access security and solid knowledge of implementing security policies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You Should Possess the Ability to:
- Develop a deep understanding of database management systems including relevant issues and considerations.
- Stay informed about industry trends and market directions related to database management systems.
- Elaborate and present information effectively on a wide range of database management system projects.
