ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is a Local MinorityOwned San Francisco general contractor specializing in affordable and marketrate multifamily housing healthcare and educational projects. Most of their work is negotiated. Their goal is to leave a legacy of serving people in need of an affordable home healthcare and education. They believe that construction is about community craftsmanship and family culture.


ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join their team. As the Controller you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical skills attention to detail and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends variances and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage the monthend and yearend close processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all financial reporting requirements.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Oversee corporate accounting functions including accounts payable accounts receivable and payroll.
  • Perform account analysis and reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.
  • Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance with SOX requirements
  • Manage accounting staff and admin.


WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA designation preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements
  • Proficient in financial analysis techniques and tools
  • Solid understanding of debits credits and doubleentry bookkeeping principles
  • Experience in financial report writing.
  • Previous experience in public accounting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Sage or other accounting software is preferred.
