Job Description

Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in financial management reporting and analysis supporting the Controller and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy compliance with accounting standards and timely reporting.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the budgeting process by gathering data analyzing trends and assisting in the development of comprehensive budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor performance against budget and provide insights for decisionmaking.
  3. Internal Controls: Help establish and maintain effective internal control procedures to safeguard company assets ensure accuracy of financial data and comply with regulatory requirements. Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements.
  4. MonthEnd Close: Participate in the monthend close process including journal entries account reconciliations and variance analysis. Work closely with accounting team members to ensure deadlines are met and financial results are accurately recorded.
  5. Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis to support decisionmaking and strategic planning. Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) trends and areas for improvement and present findings to management.
  6. Audit Support: Assist in the coordination of external audits providing documentation answering inquiries and ensuring compliance with audit requirements. Collaborate with auditors to facilitate a smooth audit process.
  7. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff providing guidance training and support as needed. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment conducive to professional growth and development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles internal controls and financial best practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills attention to detail and ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to present findings to diverse audiences.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising and mentoring staff.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
