Peraj Insurance brokers is looking for an Underwriter with strong knowledge having minimum 35 years of experience in P&C Underwriting.
More Specifically the responsibilities would include the following:
Evaluating information about the potential client
Gathering background information on potential customers from information provided in proposal forms for insurance
To check the current number of inforce policies for similar levels of risk using company records
To analyse the risk profile of the potential client.
Analysing all relevant data using appropriate available information to determine whether the level of risk is acceptable
Liaise with specialists to gather information and opinions to recommend best solutions to potential and existing client.
To establish pricing for accepted insurable risks.
Preparing the terms and conditions of insurance policies
Weight loss exposures and determine underwriting alternatives
Negotiating policy terms and pricing with Insurance Company and client
Communicating directly with customers and servicing them as per their requirement
Designing manuals for clients
Keep detailed records of policies underwritten and decisions made
Requirements and skills
Proven insurance underwriting experience
Handson experience with system analytical tools and statistical packages
Sensible judgement and attention to detail
Confident in decision making
Excellent knowledge of insurance policies and ability to relate policy provisions to the loss exposures
Proven numeracy and statistical skills
Insurance diploma or certification
Bachelor/Masters degree in Banking and Insurance/ Business Administration/Finance or related field
