Phlebotomist

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture to collect blood samples
• Verify patient information and identity
• Label and maintain the integrity of blood samples
• Follow proper protocols for specimen handling and transportation
• Communicate effectively with patients to ensure comfort and understanding
• Adhere to safety and infection control policies
• Handle administrative tasks related to specimen collection
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate records of blood draws

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program
• Certification as a Phlebotomist
• Proficiency in venipuncture techniques
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Experience in a clinical or laboratory setting
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fastpaced environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of patient privacy laws and regulations
