Job Title: Bilingual Senior Property Accountant (French & English)

Summary:
Responsibilities
Ensure that financial information are accurate and timely and deadlines are met.
Produce monthly quarterly and year end closing complete annual budget process and quarterly forecast.
Complete year end operating cost and tax adjustments and tenant billing (13th invoice) for assigned properties.
Reconciliation and understanding of all balance sheet accounts produce financial statements monthly packages and supplementary reporting for various properties (office industrial retail).
Perform monthly accounting functions including but not limit to balancing of sub ledgers to general ledger posting journal entries analyzing balance sheet accounts bank reconciliation and posting monthly tenant chargebacks.
Ensure GST/QST are reconciled and remitted
Coordinate the input of bad debt provisions bad debt write offs and tenant .
Monitor cash flows and anticipate future cash deficiencies.
Work proactively with the operations leasing and construction groups in order to produce comprehensive quality monthly reports and provide guidance on proper accounting treatment.
Prepare supporting working papers and documentation for year end audit process.
Qualifications
Enrollment in a professional accounting program &/or CPA or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years related property management accounting experience preferred.
Strong Excel skills a must YARDI SPACE (an asset) or other real estate accounting systems.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to deal effectively with multiple demands and deliverables and remain professional in stressful situations.
Be able to troubleshoot and respond quickly to client s demands.
Independent self starter as well as a team player.
Ability to take initiative in a client focused manner and deal effectively with situations work well under pressure.
Take ownership of portfolio with clients with different requirements
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French; ability to draft edit and format professional business correspondence
