Job Title: Software Dev Engineer IV

Job Description:
  • Design develop implement test document and deliver largescale multitiered distributed software applications tools systems and services using multithreaded programming distributed programming in Java and C JDBC SQL Object Oriented design and design patterns Oracle and middleware messaging systems in a Linux environment.
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing business and functional requirements and translate requirements into technical specifications for robust scalable supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture.
  • Own delivery of entire piece of system or application and serve as technical lead on complex projects using best practice engineering standards.
  • Produce comprehensive usable software documentation.
  • Participate in a 24x7 oncall support rotation and travel for onset troubleshooting or project launch.
  • Experience Generator service a central runtime that handles Clients most important shopping workloads.
  • You will use your deep technical expertise excellent leadership skills and ability to hit the ground running to solve complex problems.
  • You will build and interface with services that scale to millions of requests and deployed globally.
  • The Experience Generator team is a highly skilled specialty runtime team within the Client retail organization.
  • As a tier1 service we value availability of our customers features above all else.
  • Primary responsibilities include developing monitoring solutions troubleshooting/debugging and implementing the fix for internally developed code (JAVA) performing queries improving our systems that gather metrics on our features updating tracking and resolving technical challenges.
  • Responsibilities also include working alongside development on Client Corporate and Divisional Software projects updating/enhancing our current software automation of support processes and documentation of our systems Operating a largescale containerbased workload to deliver with operational excellence while meeting/exceeding system SLAs (e.g. Availability Latency).
  • NOTE: Candidate will be expected to be on rotation for the teams 24/7 on call support.
What will this look like:
  • Candidate will be expected to be on call for a week once every 8 weeks or so.
  • They will need to be able to triage tickets with an hour of service or beyond. The oncall load is not very heavy.

Group:
  • The Experience Generator team is a highly skilled specialty runtime team within the Client retail organization.
  • As a tier1 service we value availability of our customers features above all else.
  • The HMs area of focus is on creating a new architecture for store builders (different business lines/ verticals across Client) to use in order for them to be able to write new features and experiences.
  • Team is a Tier 1 service meaning every page loaded on those experiences will be using the FLOW (internal term) architecture.
  • They will receive every page load request for those types of features.
  • Meaning 100 to 1000 different users at the same time may be trying to load pages whether it is on the website using laptop/desktop or mobile app.
Can you give me a little detail about your team culture
  • Since the team is the center piece for FLOW they are very collaborative across different teams within shopping foundation and shopping experience.
  • Have counterpart teams across two VPs that work closely with the team.
  • So this contractor should have solid communication skills
Reason for Request:
  • Gurupa Deprecation and write mostly once are top priority of Flow program
  • This resource will build ICDP for Flow.
Typical Day in the Role
Interaction with team/Day to Day:
  • Client other SDE IIIs on the team.
  • They will also have touch points w/ the principal engineers that work closely with the team.

Training/ Ramp up
  • There will be documentation as well other sr SDEs who can help with questions.
  • Expectation is this contractor is coming in with experience.
  • Expecting to be able to come in at an Client level II capability.
  • Candidate should be able to understand their service help set up some pipelines using CDK.
  • As well as have awareness of AWS technologies and having used it in the past is preferred for a quick ramp up.
  • Expectation is 23 weeks.

  • Title: SDE IV Core backend services.
  • Build Yrs Exp: 810 yrs.
Industry Preference:
  • Core backend services.
  • Experience building operating and maintaining real time systems.
  • Awareness of metrics and alarms for high resiliency
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer or Electrical Engineering Mathematics or a related field plus five years of progressively responsible
  • Multi threaded programming and distributed programming in Java or C on Linux.
  • Experience must also involve JDBC SQL and ObjectOriented design and design patterns.
  • Requires availability for 24x7 oncall support rotation.
  • They must be detail oriented have superior verbal and written communication skills strong organizational skills are able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure
  • 8 years of noninternship professional software development experience
  • 8 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 8 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Distributed Systems Architecture Currently Using: 6 Years
  • Programming Languages: Java/ JavaScript Currently Using: 6 Years
  • Other desired technical skills include Mason Perl CGI JavaScript SQL HTML UNIX/LINUX.
  • MS in Computer Science Computer or Electrical Engineering Mathematics or a related field plus one year of experience in the job offered or related occupations of Software Engineer Software Developer or related.
