Job Description

Job Title: Java Technical Architect

Responsibilities:

Architectural Design:

Lead the design and architecture of Javabased applications ensuring scalability performance and maintainability.

Define overall system architecture including microservices design API architecture and database schema.

Technology Strategy:

Develop and communicate the technology strategy for Java development aligning it with business goals and industry best practices.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies and assess their relevance to the organization.

Technical Leadership:

Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.

Mentor and coach developers on best practices design patterns and coding standards.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including business analysts project managers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Code Reviews and Quality Assurance:

Conduct regular code reviews to ensure adherence to architectural standards.

Establish and enforce quality assurance processes throughout the development lifecycle.

Performance Optimization:

Identify and address performance bottlenecks in Java applications.

Optimize code and system architecture for efficiency.

Security:

Implement and oversee security best practices ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of data.

Conduct security reviews and audits.

Documentation:

Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including architecture diagrams design documents and technical specifications.

Scalability and Reliability:

Design systems that are scalable and reliable meeting the organizations current and future needs.

Implement strategies for load balancing failover and disaster recovery.

Collaboration with DevOps:

Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate continuous integration and deployment practices.

Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.

Qualifications:

Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science or related field.

10 years of experience in Java development with at least 35 years in an architectural role.

Skills:

Expertise in Java and related technologies (Spring Hibernate etc.).

Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and design patterns.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP).

Proficient in system integration and API design.

Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML CSS JavaScript).

Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.

Strong communication and leadership skills.

Additional Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role as a Technical Architect.

Industry certifications in Java or enterprise architecture (e.g. TOGAF).
