Job Description

Your mission

  • Develop and implement Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to model fluid flow heat transfer and mass transport within various components of alkaline and PEM electrolyzer systems.
  • Develop and validate numerical models for electrolyzer systems including membrane and electrode assembly (MEA) components ensuring accuracy and reliability in predicting electrochemical reactions and transport phenomena.
  • Investigate gas distribution and diffusion within electrolyzer chambers to optimize the flow patterns and enhance the efficiency of gas conversion processes.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to optimize the design and performance of electrolyzer stacks considering factors such as current density distribution gas utilization and temperature control.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in electrolyzer systems based on simulation results proposing design modifications and operational strategies.
  • Analyze simulation data to provide insights into fluid dynamics heat transfer and electrochemical processes in electrolyzers; present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in CFD methodologies and contribute to the continuous improvement of simulation techniques within the organization.

Your profile

  • Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering Chemical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred.
  • Proven experience in CFD simulations specifically in the field of alkaline and PEM electrolyzers.
  • Proficiency in CFD software packages such as ANSYS Fluent COMSOL or OpenFOAM.
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics heat transfer and electrochemical processes related to electrolyzers..
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Selfmotivated and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English or/and German
