Role: Snowflake Administrator (Performance Tuning Focus)

Location: New York NY (Hybrid)

Long Term Contract W2 & C2C

Job Description

• Administer and maintain Snowflake data warehouse environments ensuring optimal performance availability and scalability.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to design and implement Snowflake solutions that meet business requirements.
• Develop and implement best practices for Snowflake database design configuration and performance tuning.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimization including query performance tuning resource utilization and data loading processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Snowflake database performance stability and security.
• Provide technical guidance and support to development teams on Snowflake usage best practices and performance optimization techniques.
• Stay updated on the latest Snowflake features enhancements and best practices to continually improve our data warehouse environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
• Proven experience as a Snowflake Administrator or similar role with a focus on performance tuning.
• Indepth knowledge of Snowflake architecture features and capabilities.
• Handson experience with Snowflake performance tuning techniques including query optimization resource management and data partitioning.
• Strong SQL skills and experience writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Snowflake certification(s) is a plus.
• Experience with other data warehousing technologies such as Redshift BigQuery or Teradata.
• Knowledge of ETL tools and processes.
• Experience with data modeling and schema design.
