Job Description

Wildland Fire Module (WFM) assists in all aspects of wildland and prescribed fire operations including preparation ignition monitoring hold mopup and rehabilitation. Follow established and developed safety guidelines and is responsible for own safety as well as communicating hazards to other crew members and adjacent resources. Personally performs tasks to control and extinguish wildfires as needed. May be required to serve in other or similar positions (as qualified) collecting and evaluating weather fuels topography and fire behavior data for prescribed and wildland fires. Maintains appropriate records including fire reports monitoring summaries and crew or unit log/diary. Personal computer skills needed including data entry spreadsheets and graphs. Performs hazard fuels reduction projects which entails cutting moving and piling vegetation through use of mechanical means. Assist with the preparation of prescribed fire burn plans; including fuels assessments preparation requirements ignition and hold plans and post fire rehab etc.. May assist in emergency operations as trained and qualified.



Requirements

Must pass a preemployment criminal and driving if applicable background check in addition to medical and drug screenings.
