Operations Director: Workington Cumbria

Salary :DOE


MacArthur Recruitment is working for a UKbased manufacturing engineering organisation who are looking for an Operations Director. This pivotal role involves overseeing operational processes and sustaining initiatives and business growth. This is a highly demanding role taking full ownership of the operational side of the business. You will lead a dedicated team and collaborate closely with all other areas in the business to drive continuous improvement and contribute to long term success for the business.


Overview of the Operations Director role :

  • Managing the daytoday operations of the site implanting necessary changes and adhering to compliance procedures laws and regulations.
  • Developing improving and putting in place operations and production plans to meet company goals.
  • Ensuring that all health & safety and environmental policies procedures rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Managing the security across the site.
  • Being responsible for the Facilities and Maintenance departments ensuring all compliance regulations are adhered to.
  • Evaluating overall operational performance
  • Providing all necessary reports assisting management in goal setting and promoting company growth.
  • Managing budgets within operations.
  • Allocating the company resources materials and equipment to the most productive functions supply chain and delivery management.
  • Creating operation strategies and consolidating initiatives to reduce company costs and increase employee productivity.
  • Responsibility for approx. fifteen direct reports including: three Deputy Production Managers Security Health and Safety and Maintenance.

Your background for the Operations Director role :

  • Proven experience as an Operational Director or equivalent position.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team in fastpaced work environment within manufacturing.
  • Ideally a bachelor s degree in operations business management or related field.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills for training and motivating teams creating the visions for the future of the company.
  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to analyse business intelligence and big data that identify revenues opportunities and operations improvements.
  • Problemsolving for improving processes increasing efficiency and profits.
  • Expert knowledge of safety efficiency and productquality standards.
  • Expertise in managing external partner relationships and contracts.
  • Knowledge of industry legal rules guidelines and diverse business principles and functions.
