Librarian

The successful candidate will assist in thedevelopment of policies, procedures and guidelines for cataloguing,metadata and resource description and ensure they are implementedand followed. Also, create and develop short-term and long-termproject plans for the cataloging and processing of future andexisting materials and collections that improve the discovery ofand access to the UDST physicalcollection. Thesuccessful candidate will apply cataloguing and metadata bestpractices to ensure that efficient, timely and appropriate accessis provided to physical and digital collections. And manage andassist in processing, cataloguing, classification, and serialsmanagement according to internationalstandards. Thesuccessful candidate will create, update and modify databaserecords in Integrated Library System (ILS) or other informationmanagement systems to ensure quality data and metadata, providinguser-friendly access to collections. Related tasks may include butare not limited to description of materials, transformation ofmetadata, training of staff in best practices related to metadataproduction and digital libraries, and reviewing the work ofcontributors to ensure that it adheres to relevant standards andprocedures
