A national packaging manufacturer has an opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to join their dynamic fastpaced Production Team based in Durban.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing Production Staff to ensure a motivated and highperforming team.
- Managing of all machines and plant maintenance.
- Machine efficiencies of < 85%
- Identification and achievement of measurable technical and process developments and improvements.
- Establish the budget for mould expenses and equipment including the control of consumable costs.
- Controlling spares usage and costs.
- Partnering with Quality to ensure the correct standards in accordance with FSSC systems are maintained.
- Overseeing and assisting with training of all Production staff
- Working with HSE to ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures.
- Ensuring Proper housekeeping by maintaining a minimum score of 95% on the housekeeping checklist and 100% adherence to the dress code.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- A completed Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree is essential.
- 5 years plus continuous manufacturing Production experience Injection and/or Blowmoulding experience is advantageous.
- 3 years or more Production Management experience essential
- SAP experience will be beneficial
- Excel advanced highly advantageous

- Ability to make tough decisions and manage complexity
- Excellent communication and proven track record of managing a production team
- Strong sense of urgency and enjoys being on the floor and in a handson type of role and environment
