Controller

Independent school base in Pasadena area looking to bring on Controller with extensive nonprofit or education experience. Postion is direct hire and fulltime.
Position will report to the CEO Head of School. Salary offered is between $120$140K. This is a fully in office position.

Position Summary

• Direct and prepare all financial statements including income statements balance sheets and all related reports.
• Perform payroll and perform/oversee accounts payable and receivables.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Develop distribute and monitor purchasing receiving collection reimbursements and payroll procedures.
• Prepare monthly financial statements for presentation to the Board of Directors.
• Lead budgeting process including the operating budget for approval by the Board of Directors. Analyze and report budget variances.
• Report capital improvement budget enrollment and personnel projections.
• Prepare and participate in the annual financial audit process
• Review recommend and approve 403B plan sponsorship.
• Work closely with the admissions department regarding enrollment and the development office on outside funding sources.
• Review and manage the Tuition Assistance Program.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance required; CPA and MBA preferred
• Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems
• Increasing responsibility in the accounting department at an educational organization/nonprofit or public accounting experience with a focus on education/nonprofit strongly preferred
• Additional experience in HR highly preferred
