Job Description: Chef de Partie & Pastry

We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef de Partie & Pastry to join our team. As a sustainable foods cafe dedicated to providing topquality locally sourced seasonal organic and fair trade foods we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to sustainability and can contribute to our mission of promoting a sustainable lifestyle in Ireland.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook highquality nutritious and delicious food items in accordance with Good Day Deli's sustainability and quality standards.
  • Create and execute innovative pastry and dessert recipes using seasonal and organic ingredients.
  • Assist in the development of menus taking into consideration seasonal availability and customer preferences.
  • Ensure proper handling storage and rotation of ingredients to maintain food freshness and quality.
  • Maintain a clean organized and sanitary work environment at all times.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff members providing guidance and support.
  • Adhere to portion control cost management and waste minimization guidelines.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and procedures.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a Chef de Partie preferably in a sustainable foods cafe or similar establishment.
  • Strong knowledge of sustainable food practices local food sourcing and organic ingredients.
  • Proficiency in pastry and dessert preparation with a focus on creativity and presentation.
  • Excellent culinary skills and understanding of various cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently and multitask in a fastpaced environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience working with South Pacific cuisine or influences is a plus.
  • Familiarity with sustainability certifications or practices is desirable.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a food service setting.
