Job Description


Our new Finance Manager will collaborate with Executive leadership to make critical decisions. They will additionally lead our finance team, department, create and review reports, and create and manage budgets. The Finance Manager also may supervise spending, which can include investments, and cash management; they will be responsible for preparing financial statements while maintaining compliance with state and federal government regulations. Managing an internal audit and reporting findings, as well as making recommendations based on that audit, is also an essential duty of our Finance Manager


We are seeking candidates that are trustworthy, honest, efficient, and ethical to develop fiscal management procedures and improve upon our current internal controls. Finance manager will work with a team of consultants and staff who often manage tasks under tight deadlines; they will work closely with the CEO and board under the supervision of the COO. Their typical hours are a business regular hours, although some overtime might be required for special projects or under tight deadlines.


Example Responsibilities
  • Creates and maintains financial policies
  • Collaborates with consultants and Chief Operations officer to maintain financial controls
  • Oversees Accounting department, budget preparation, audit functions, and the financial health of the organization.
  • Works with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.
  • Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
  • Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
  • Manage budgets and finances as well as oversee investment opportunities and financial strategy in for-profit organizations.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs.
  • Oversee the execution and sharing of all financial documents and quarterly or annual reports.
  • Reviews planning process and suggests improvements to current methods.
  • Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
  • Works with executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
  • Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
  • Supervise accounting and payroll professionals and asses their abilities
  • Stay up-to-date with financial software, industry trends, and investment opportunities.
  • Identifies opportunities for expansion into new product areas.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and other financial industry regulations.
  • Oversees investment of funds and works with investment bankers to raise additional capital required for expansion.




Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelors accepted, Master s degree preferred in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance preferred, Bachelors degree is required.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Eight to ten years of experience in financial management is required.
  • Experience managing Federal grants
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
  • Knowledge of MIP/Abila Accounting Software - training and support provided
  • Experience working with Concur Expense Management systems

Willingness to adhere to a background check and extensive reference check.
