We are currently recruiting for a CONTRACT HR Manager/Sr. HR Business Partner with proven HR experience to complement our HR Team. Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, the incumbent will be responsible for serving as a strong business partner to our internal clients and is expected to deliver effective strategic and tactical HR solutions/recommendations for people-related issues/concerns/opportunities. The selected candidate will serve as the objective first-line HR expert to managers and employees.

Specific areas of responsibilities include:

Employee Relations

Performance Management: administration of:

o Annual performance appraisal process;

o Merit and other compensation processes;

o Rewards/Recognition programs;

o Progressive Discipline process;

o Terminations;

ER Investigations;

Employee engagement initiatives;

Re-structurings;

On-boarding;

Separation processes, including conducting exit interviews;

Management coaching/training;

Affirmative action planning/reporting;

Recruitment support/assistance (ad hoc)


This position is hands-on and requires proven experience as a Human Resources generalist with responsibilities for effectively managing employee relations issues (including in-depth investigations), partnering closely with leaders on re-structurings and performance management, successfully coaching and counseling leaders up to the director level and administering HR programs that will assist with morale and retention. The incumbent will serve as the face of HR to a defined internal client group, partnering with HR colleagues to delivery proactive and impactful HR recommendations and services to our employees and leaders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Builds exceptional relationships with internal clients; acts as a trusted HR advisor and thought partner to organizational leaders;
  • Gains understanding of divisional needs and business initiatives; makes appropriate people-related suggestions/recommendations that will allow divisions to operate more effectively and efficiently;
  • Guides internal clients through progressive disciplinary process; partners closely with internal clients to address performance and behavioral concerns;
  • Solicits feedback from employers and leaders to maintain understanding of employee concerns and opportunities;
  • Identifies employee relations trends and provides solutions to effectively address issues/concerns that may impede organizational success;
  • Conducts ER inEntake meetings and documents concerns appropriately; leads comprehensive internal investigations and makes recommendations consistent with organizational policies/practices and applicable employment laws, regulations and guidelines;
  • Assists with ensuring organizational culture is one that is consistent with Employers of Choice (EOC); reinforces cultural values when dealing with behavioral and/or performance issues/concerns;
  • Consistently researches employment law changing landscape to ensure that the company is compliant;
  • Assists with training initiatives as needed, including performance management, anti-harassment, team building and other programs;
  • Conducts new employee assimilation sessions as needed; conducts exit interviews; develops reporting and evaluates trends; recommends improvements based on feedback received from employees;
  • Serves as a strong partner to our Race Equity, Diversity and Inclusion team;
  • Leads AAP development, monitoring and reporting;
  • Works closely with the HR team to develop and execute other Human Resources initiatives and special projects;
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor s degree in Human Resources or related discipline (e.g., organizational development, industrial relations, education or other related field). Master s degree a plus.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of Human Resources Generalist experience in a matrixed organization;
  • Excellent coaching skills; ability to advise, counsel and influence experienced and entry-level people managers to lead more effectively;
  • Exceptional ability to partner effectively with all levels within organization;
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills; ability to use data and analytics to drive business solutions; great business acumen;
  • Ability to multi-task and to managing changing priorities effectively;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Exceptionally strong customer service orientation;
  • Knowledge of employment laws including but not limited to Title 7, ADA, FMLA, FLSA and ability to apply to workplace situations;
  • Experience with HRIS , preferably UKG;
  • Full understanding of Microsoft Office applications;
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential a plus.
