Position Summary: NeighborWorks is seeking an experienced and driven compensation and benefits expert to re-imagine our current compensation strategies and programs as well as continue to evolve our benefits program. In partnership with the SVP, HR and organizational executives, the incumbent will be tasked with evaluating and making recommendations to improve current compensation and benefits programs including overall compensation philosophy, rewards/recognition programs, annual merit and bonus programs and executive compensation programs. The incumbent will work closely with our Total Rewards Manager to provide oversight in the design and administration of all benefits programs and initiatives. The selected individual will be well-versed in the use of technology to allow for optimal results and efficiencies, as well as the development and utilization of internal procedures and controls to ensure that NeighborWorks is able to attract, recruit and retain top talent in all markets.
The candidate of choice will be strategic and results-oriented and effectively communicate with all levels within the organization, effectively leveraging internal and external resources in the achievement of HR and organizational goals and objectives.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Serve as compensation and benefits expert for organizational total rewards programs;
2. Develops and implements an overall information and visibility strategy to effectively communicate Training Division accomplishments and activities to a variety of external audiences. Responsibilities include:
3. Revise and manage annual compensation processes including merits, salary adjustments, promotions and bonuses;
4. Lead the development of a comprehensive total rewards communications strategy;
5. Assist with improving organizational understanding of compensation strategies and programs;
6. Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure coordination and proactive consideration of issues related to compensation.
7. Lead bi-annual compensation studies to ensure market competitiveness;
8. Benchmark current compensation administration against market trends;
9. Conduct overall organization compensation analyses; develop short and long-term plans to address any opportunities and/or inconsistencies;
10. Lead the development and leveling/pricing of new and revised position descriptions;
11. Develop, analyze and price jobs, salaries, and incentives to assess internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of pay practices;
12. Assist with the development of career paths and leads re-titling efforts; Work closely with the Talent Acquisition Team in the development of compensation
13. Develop internal promotion guidelines/processes;
14. Provide strategic direction and guidance regarding health and welfare benefits, leave programs including annual leave programs, FMLA, STD and LTD, work-life balance initiatives;
15. Design and assists with the administration of a cost-effective, market-competitive comprehensive benefits program;
16. Effectively manage all benefits broker relationship and participate in negotiation efforts;
17. Supervise Total Rewards Manager;
18. Design and execute effective wellness and health education strategies and initiatives;
19. Lead annual benefits renewal process, 401(k) audit and non-discrimination testing;
20. Ensure plan documents are maintained, revise SPDs, and ensure all regulatory filings are executed;
21. Partner closely with Sr. HRIS Specialist and Payroll Department to ensure systems effectively support compensation processes and lead to greater efficiencies;
22. Conduct audits and assessments of total rewards programs to ensure market competitiveness, compliance, and consistency with total rewards strategy;
23. Assist with HR budget development & administration and special projects.
Nature of Work Contacts:
NeighborWorks America staff, vendors and other company representatives for the purpose of exchanging information. This role will interact with senior leadership including officers to provide information for decision-making.
Fiscal Responsibilities: effectively managing the total rewards budget including vendor and total compensation budgets.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
(a) Education: Bachelor s degree in human resources or related discipline and/or equivalent years of experience; Master s degree a plus;
(b) Experience: Minimum ten years of total rewards experience;
(c) Licenses, Certifications: SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CCP and/or CEBS certifications highly desirable.
(d) Competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:
Previous supervisory experience;
