servicesppTo provide medical advice to operations staff and supervisors to enable cost containment of assistance cases and costeffective assistance to policyholders of Collinson Insurance and their principals ensuring that the decisions made are within the terms and conditions of the policy and meet the medical requirements of the situationppTo take responsibility for the management of medical cases ppTo assist the CMO in providing the medical team strategy and clinical governance across all aspects of medical operationsppTo perform the duties of a duty doctor on the assistance platformppThis role is Haywards Heath based with hybrid working However there will be the need to travel to London and Internationally as requiredppstrongKey ResponsibilitiesstrongppAs Senior Medical OfficerbrpulliTo assist with clinical governance including the development and regular review of policies and procedures liululliTo respond to complaints in collaboration with the operational team where medical input is required retaining full ownership where appropriateliululliTo assist with the training and mentoring of the medical teamliululliTo assist with the recruitment and training of new medical staffliululliTo help with maintaining the medical equipment room and replenishing drug stocks as required liululliTo undertake repatriations as required and when the need arises to meet with local agents to inspect and validate the credentials of the hospitals and other medical suppliers liululliTo help ensure audit of calls and quality checking is maintained by the department liululliTo attend client meetings as requiredliululliTo share the out of hours on call rota with the CMO and provide senior level clinical escalation support during periods of leave and absenceliulpAs Duty DoctorpulliTo support the nursing team in the remote management of patientsliululliTo advise on safe and timely intervention in the context of the clients insurance cover liululliTo liaise with patients relatives treating clinicians suppliers and other agencies to ensure a safe and timely patient transfer liululliTo maintain clear documentation of involvement in case management and provide of clear direction to colleagues in both operations and medical teamsliululliTo assist the CMO in the maintenance of clinically robust commercial transfer servicesliululliTo determine if the clinical status of a patient meets the requirement for evacuation or other benefits liululliTo assist the CMO and other departments in the detection of fraud liululliTo attend team governance network and other meetings as requiredliululliTo provide clinical input in root cause analysis of incidents or near misses liululliTo escalate any clinical quality or safety concerns wherever they originate in the organization in a timely manner to the CMO liululliTo maintain a situational oversight of all highprofile cases and patients in transfer during duty hours liululliTo ensure cost containment validation and ensure patients receive appropriate timely and necessary medical treatmentliulpstrongKnowledge skills and experience requiredstrongpulliFull medical registration with the General Medical Council with licence to practiseliululliCurrently working in clinical practice in an acute medical specialty with at least years post full registration experience (ST or equivalent)liululliSpecialist registration in anaesthetics ITU general practice or A&E are highly desirable (or European equivalent) with some additional experience in general medicine general practiceliululliAviation medicine qualification highly desirableliululliExperience of working in a medical assistance company and claims environment liululliIn flight medical experience liululliAbility to lead a team by example and drive them towards excellenceliululliProficient IT skills related to statistics spreadsheets databases and general IT activities and expliulpstrongPerson SpecificationstrongbrpulliExcellent
