PeopleSoft Administrator
18 months (with opportunity for extension)
Hybrid (50% onsite in Albany, 50% remote)

Mandatory Qualifications:

  1. Five or more years of experience, in PeopleSoft 9.x or higher, performing System Administration in at least one of the following PeopleSoft applications: Financials, HCM/Payroll, CRM, or HCM/Pension. Experience must include configuring and supporting all components (including PeopleTools); migrating objects; applying maintenance packs, bundles, and tax updates; and applying fixes
  2. Two or more years of experience with the installation, administration and use of PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM)
  3. Five or more years of experience in configuring and maintaining integration broker gateway, queues, routings and application messages for internal and external integrations
  4. Five or more years of experience with implementing and maintaining PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (including Weblogic and Tuxedo or similar tools) in an UNIX environment
  5. Five or more years of experience in configuring web servers, application servers and process schedulers
  6. Participated in at least one upgrade of PeopleSoft HCM, CRM, Financials or Pension applications where the candidate was responsible for downloading patches, applying maintenance packs and Tax Updates, using change assistance, and performing several test moves to production
  7. One or more years of experience using PUM upgrade methodology and creating PUM servers using Virtual Box or Native OS


Desired Qualifications:

  1. Experience as the lead technical expert on an enterprise software implementation
  2. Experience administering Oracle Data Integrator software
  3. Experience administering Quest STAT for PeopleSoft software.
  4. Understanding of software product and operating system architecture
  5. Understanding of SQL and Oracle database concepts
  6. Knowledge of in Unix/Linux operating system and scripting

While not required in a response, SFS is seeking candidates that also have the following: Ability to work collaboratively across project teams; Ability to plan and organize development work and deliverables; Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly; Ability to work off hours when necessary to perform maintenance activities.

Responsibilities:
This is a staff augmentation position in the Middleware Administration Unit (FMW) of the Software Administration Bureau (SWADM). The candidate chosen for this position will work alongside NYS employees to provide service to the agency. They will regularly work with other units: Security, Master Data Management, Operations, Application Development, Database Admins, Business Analysts, Helpdesk, Production Support, Auditing, etc.

Duties consist of performing classic software administration tasks (software installation, server building, application deployment, configuration, tuning, patching, upgrading and troubleshooting) along all of the parts of the Quest STAT and Oracle Data Integrator technical stack (IBM AIX, OEL(RHEL), (to a lesser degree: Windows) and Java The candidate will work with our service provider to make ODI and STAT Client software available from the Citrix Workspace environment.

Duties of the software administrator for Oracle Data Integrator ETL software:

  • Installation of ODI software, Preferably on Unix or Linux Configuration of ODI environments
  • Architecture deployment - RCU and Work Repository Creation, Deployment of Agents
  • Setting up Contexts
  • Setting up migration paths for ODI artifacts to move artifacts from Dev to Production
  • Tuning of the ODI environment for maximum performance Troubleshooting Issues with ODI and the nightly execution of our Bulkload jobs
  • Understanding of the Security Realm of ODI
  • Patching ODI
  • Upgrading ODI
  • Monitoring the ODI System

Duties of the software administrator for STAT:

  • Installation of STAT software, Preferably on Unix or Linux Configuration of STAT environments
  • Experience building STAT Workflows
  • Coordinating the switching of SDLC streams during our project and upgrade events
  • Troubleshooting Issues in STAT
  • Working with the Migrations team on any issues that they experience during the migration process

Monitoring the STAT System Migration of PeopleTools objects and programs is performed via STAT by other units (not PSAdmin), but an understanding of the concepts of object and program migration is necessary to assist in troubleshooting and configuration of PS servers.

Weekly Work Schedule: M-F 8-5 + off hours work (40 hours/week)

Off hours support is necessary in the position in order to support: the system (patching, upgrades, reconfiguration), batch processing, other units and business events (e.g. Fiscal Year End, Lapsing)
