About Flexible Staffing Studio

Flexible Staffing Studio is a Hiring Platform that helps connect top Engineers in Emerging Technologies such as Aerospace, VR, AR, Machine Learning, Robotics, and R&D.

This is a 3-month on-site contract with an option to extend.

Hourly Rate: 28$-45$

DESCRIPTION: Seeking a Build Technician with electrical and mechanical assembly experience. As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of various spaceflight avionics testing systems. This is a hands-on position that will involve you in all aspects of engineering, design, fabrication, installation, and testing. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

This is not a remote position. You must be willing to work in Kent, WA as needed to directly access the system hardware.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work directly with Test and Software Engineers in the development, test and qualification of Test System s hardware and software applications

Build harnessing and load box assemblies for Test systems

Perform routine maintenance and calibration on Engine Avionics Test Systems

Review, improve and execute various test procedures and processes

Provide input on how to streamline test procedures as well as incorporate process improvement techniques into the manufacturing testing processes and procedures

General troubleshooting of Test Systems , Instrumentation and Software Debugging

Uphold 5S principles to keep the AVINPI Team s avionics test lab clean and organized

Manage the development test asset hardware or Device Under Test (DUT) and test system configurations during the test system development phase

Bring up and qualify Blue test systems at EMS suppliers


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

4 years experience in electronic test systems troubleshooting, repair, and operation

4 years' experience assembly or manufacturing experience, including solder work

Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience

Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings and schematics

Ability to read and understand technical manuals/detailed work instructions

Demonstrated ability to work with electronic test instruments, systems and software

Strong knowledge of 5S, ESD, FOD and Tool Control best practices

Ability to lead and train fellow technicians in the use and troubleshooting of various Test Systems

Basic knowledge in electronics and common passive components found in Test Systems

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windchill

High attention to detail

Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Work in a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented environment

Apply a get-it-done and get-it-done-right mindset coupled with attention to detail.

Apply proactive and reactive problem-solving skills.

Be a self-starter.

Communicate technical results, plans, and issues with internal and external customers.

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


Desired

8+ years experience in the aerospace industry, aerospace maintenance or aerospace engineering.

6+ years experience supporting manufacturing test systems for space grade avionics.
