Job Description:

FS is looking for a Technical Project Manager to bring up and oversee an aerospace test equipment project involving brushless DC motor simulation for one of our clients in Kent, WA. The position will begin with forming a new team dedicated to this project. As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development and implementation of simulator system in multiple use cases. This is a hands-on position that will involve you in all aspects of engineering, design, fabrication, installation, and testing. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the project
  • Develop schedules for all operations of the project
  • Manage hardware procurement in combination with the client purchasing department for both prototype and production hardware
  • Day to day oversight of an interdisciplinary team including at least: Mechanical engineering, software engineering, electricalengineering, manufacturing engineering and build techs
  • Provide oversight and technical approval of build processes ensuring that quality metrics are met
  • Ensure project quality, budget and timelines are met
  • Motivate the team and promote a safe, fun and productive culture
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partners, customers, suppliers, stakeholders, clients and team members
  • Report project status and issues on a regular basis to all stakeholders

This position is expected to be 80+% on site in the Kent, Renton or Auburn WA area.

This position must meet ITAR requirements therefore applicantsmust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S.as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field such as aerospace engineering, manufacturing, electricalengineering or similar
  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace technical project management
  • Demonstrated leadership on successful past project
  • 5+ years of experience interfacing with customers and senior leadership
  • 5+ years of experience with common office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project
  • 5+ years of experience with aerospace materials traceability and calibration standards and requirements

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Familiarity with aerospace standards such as IPC-620, DO-330, DO-178 or similar (not all of these will be used directly but Blue standards are built upon these standards)
  • Experience and success in navigating the current supply chain environment
