Job Description

Our client, a large intellectual property law firm, is seeking a Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator to move forward all aspects of the firm’s strategic initiatives for Diversity & Inclusion; firm-wide learning programs, corporate responsibility, sponsorship coordination, and event management.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Program coordination of diversity and inclusion related education and training events.
  • Compile and create reports for internal and external data.
  • Assist with the coordination, completion, and delivery of all external diversity survey responses.
  • Support the department’s commitment to advancing community service initiatives.
  • Coordinate applications for diversity related awards and recognition.
  • Respond to requests for diversity related information.
  • Provide sourcing and execution of diversity and inclusion-related activities and initiatives, including but not limited to, diversity and inclusion training, presentations, workshops or continuing legal education seminars; internal diversity and inclusion programming at Firm meetings, retreats, and orientations.
  • Maintain records and attendance lists related to the same.
  • Assist other Firm departments on diversity and inclusion-related initiatives.
  • Keep abreast of diversity, equity, and inclusion trends and standards. Researches and evaluates networking enhancements and makes recommendations to management to maintain efficiency and best practices.
  • Accurately and timely reconcile and process financial documents for diversity, equity, and inclusion department related expenditures, as appropriate, in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Other administrative duties and special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3 years of experience in a professional services environment.
  • 2 years events management and experience supporting diversity and inclusion programs or related education preferred.
  • Interest in and commitment to diversity and inclusion matters required.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, and familiarity with web design or .html. Experience using MS Teams, Zoom and other virtual event and meeting platforms.
  • Knowledge of report/query writing or data gathering and ability to conduct basic data analysis.
  • Project management experience, ability to identify and resolve problems, manage, and communicate issues and ensure project’s success.
