Job Description

The Account Manager is responsible for fostering and maintaining client relationships with a strong emphasis on responsive service and account retention for our personal insurance clients. The Account Manager also provides support for Agents in the day-to-day handling of client insurance needs.

  • Manage the renewal process by facilitating communication between the client, agency, agent, and partner carriers, including but not limited to updating applications and maintaining spreadsheets
  • Facilitate the quoting process and coordinate communication with all parties
  • Maintain strong client relationships with the ability to problem solve
  • Inform and educate clients about coverage, exclusions, and exposures while documenting electronic files appropriately
  • Prepare proposals, applications, and submissions to the insured and/or carrier as needed, obtains client signatures, and follow up to ensure timely responses, all in conjunction with Agents, Account Managers, and Marketing Representatives
  • Respond to client needs by producing binders, certificates, policies, and other related items accurately and on time
  • Actively engaged in client risk management and claim processes, facilitate communication and meetings between the carrier, client, and agency personnel
  • Prepare summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals
  • Verify the accuracy of processed endorsements, taking corrective action when necessary
  • Explain audit procedures to clients and review interim reports for credibility and coverage adequacy
  • Order policies and prepare policy books for delivery to clients
  • Stay abreast of developments in the insurance industry and changes in coverage
  • Maintain accurate and current electronic files; file documentation and performance of responsibilities with clients and others in a manner that avoids potential errors and omissions
  • Seek referrals from the current client base to solicit new business prospects
  • Other duties requested by the broker and/or in accordance with TIS practices related to the successful retention and maintenance of client relationships. This may include some travel to client facilities when needed

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalency; college degree preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years of previous related insurance work experience
  • Working knowledge of the personal lines insurance industry, underwriting, and rating procedures
  • Current applicable license preferred. If not currently held, the ability to obtain licenses as required by State Department of Insurance and participate in seminars or other training to maintain license(s)
  • Ability to comply with applicable laws
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; excellent customer service and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work well independently yet function as part of a team
  • Strong risk management skills including claims
  • Ability to build strong client relationships, problem-solve, and document follow up
  • Proficiency working in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
