We are looking for a Jointing Team consisting of an experienced DNO/IDNO/ICP Jointer with experience of LV up to 33kV jointing and aJointers Mate who are currently working as an established team.
Ideally living up to 20-30 minutes from each, based around the outskirts of London or South East. (Kent/Essex) Areas. Travel Nationwide and nights away as work/projects demand is a regular part of the job.
Jointer: To ensure jointing activities on all electricity networks are installed in a safe and professional manner, to a high standard and in accordance with Sinewave s Method Statements.
Jointers Mate:To assist the Cable Jointer in carrying out jointing activities and ensuring that activities on all electricity networks are installed in a safe and professional manner, to a high standard and in accordance with RAMS.
Requirements
The core job is:
- Carry out and accurately record formal risk assessments of the workplace and brief staff appropriately
- Carry out works within the public adopted highway (having correct qualifications to do so)
- Review and understand work instructions before any work commencement either through plans, drawings and written or verbal communication
Carry out works within confined spaces using established safety procedures - Carry out dead LV jointing works in accordance with safe working practices and in compliance with the adopting DNO s codes of practice
- Carry out live LV jointing works in accordance with safe working practices and in compliance with the adopting DNO s codes of practice
- Carry out HV jointing works in accordance with safe working practices and in compliance with the adopting DNO s codes of practice.
To excavate cable trenches and joint bays using hand held tools and equipment
To allow for entry into substations for jointing, installation and standby duties
In addition the Jointer is responsible to:- Supervise the Jointers Mate at all times
- Recognise danger, suspend any work activities until safe and liaise with the appropriate person(s) to create a safe workplace
