HR Assistant Cincinnati Plant

POSITION OVERVIEW

The HR Assistant will be responsible for leading HR administrative processes, compensation management, and providing general support to plant operations. In addition, this individual will provide process ownership for internal staffing and movements, support external staffing initiatives, and provide oversight of new employee onboarding and orientation processes. This position requires considerable interaction and collaboration with plant leadership, production employees, external candidates, and HR Shared Services. This position also works closely with corporate benefits and compensation teams, leave and disability partners, and legal counsel. This role will require high learning agility and change leadership skills and will be a critical partner in the future state of the HR function for the plant.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead with safety
Own and lead the internal staffing and bidding processes, including posting bid jobs, communicating bid winners, and Workday process management.
Support and partner with HR Business Associate on external hiring processes for production employees, including recruiting efforts, job postings, assessments, interview preparation, offers and contingencies, and candidate tracking through iCIMS platform.
Provide leadership and ownership of all compensation processes for the plant.
Support and partner with Payroll to administer compensation changes, non-standard payments, and off-cycle payouts.
Manage and maintain plant attendance records, track attendance violations, and assist in the issuing of correction action when applicable; manage the plants perfect attendance program.
Administer and lead FMLA, Disability and Leaves of Absence cases in partnership with the General Mills Disability Service Center; serve as a local subject matter expert for leave and disability processes.
Own and lead new employee onboarding and orientation processes, improvements, and standardization efforts; leverage central and local resources to ensure employees are set up for success with proper training and guidance.
Partner and support local rewards and recognition initiatives, programs, and special events.
Own and support annual HR processes including Benefits Open Enrollment, Data Validation, Engagement Survey administration, and other initiatives.
Support maintenance of employee personnel files and documentation in compliance with Global Internal Audit standards.
Manage employee uniforms, locker assignments, safety shoes, and safety glasses programs for the plant.
Provide day-to-day HR customer service to all plant employees, including researching and resolving questions or issues.
Provide backup support to plant HR Manager, HR Business Associate, and Production Scheduler
Provide leadership for HR process improvements.
Lead and manage additional tactical and administrative HR processes for the plant.
Support other duties, plant and function initiatives as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in ANY major
1-2 years of HR, compensation, or related work experience.
Well-developed communication skills, including verbal, written, and PC-based, and demonstrated ability to communicate internally and externally at all levels across disciplines.
Highly motivated and self-starter with strong attention to detail, organization and prioritization skills.
Ownership and responsibility for tasks and priorities; demonstrates high level of performance.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, and proactive in building relationships.
Ability to think critically and analytically.
Demonstrated high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, and credibility.
Willingness and flexibility to adapt to changing job expectations and requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous HR or related work experience in a manufacturing setting.
Practical and creative approach to problem solving and ability to work with ambiguity.
Strong leadership, influence skills, and ability to apply sound judgment to decision-making.
Ability to build trusting business partnerships through candid, objective communication.
Commitment to self-development and development of others.
Strong computer skills and system proficiency: Workday, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point applications, reporting skills, and Workbrain or other payroll software knowledge
