Sydney CBD
office.



Claims Consultant




What can you expect?

As a Claims Consultant you will Contribute to the assessment of coverage under moderate oversight and communicates same to brokers and insureds. You will assist in the determination of claim liabilities, value, and service provider fees and sets reserves, with low financial authority, according to Company and legal standards. You will support team members in assessing financial exposure of low complexity claims of insured and sets reserves accordingly. Obtains reserving, settlement and payment authority in accordance with limited authority level. This role will involve claims for Property Damage, Personal Injury and Business Interruption.

We will count on you to:



Client and Broker Service

Meets service levels set out in Client Service Agreement or Claims Unit standards.
Responds to queries from clients and brokers.
Prepares routine and ad hoc reports including claims trends analysis; prepares quarterly and/or annual claims reviews; attends client meetings.
Conducts training for clients as required.


Claims Technical

Manages basic to moderately complex claims according to the Companys processes and client agreements, liaising with the Major Claims Unit as required;
Liaises with clients, insurers, claimants and external providers and maintains relationships with contacts; Interprets policy wordings; Analyses claims history data;
Arranges/conducts investigations; Determines claim settlements for under-deductible claims.


Claims Administration

Data entry of incident reports and processing of other claims related information in Clearsight;
Prepares and sends routine correspondence and other documents using Company templates ;
Prepares invoices as required for under-deductible accounts.


Claims Advisory

Drives the settlement negotiation process and negotiates on behalf of client;
Acts as advocate for the client and determines commercial/technical responses to insurers denials of liability.


New and expanded business

Alert to new and expanded business opportunities and refers to senior colleagues as appropriate;
Supports new and expanded business endeavors through provision of claims review data for tenders, renewals and proposals, and participates in client/prospect meeting as required;
Participates in marketing presentations and client/broker education presentations as required.




What you need to have:

High level of accuracy/attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workloads and work to tight deadlines
Excellent communication and numerical skills and proven track record to provide a high level of customer service
Flexible and team player develops close partnerships with onshore and offshore colleagues
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Ability to maintain clear lines of communication with various internal and external stakeholders
Proficiency in Word and Excel
