Required Skills:
For this particular request, knowledge requirements include: Demonstrate proficiency with COBOL, CICS, JCL, Easytrieve, FTP, VSAM and SAM file structures, and mainframe libraries in both test and production VSE environments.
Analyze, design, code, test, document, and implement updates to existing COBOL programs and prepare ad hoc reports.
Analyze related systems to assess and address any unintended adverse impacts.
Quickly learn business processes and adapt to new requirements.
Communicate clearly with business leaders, supervisors, and colleagues to understand issues and needs, clarify specifications, fulfill requests and resolve problems.
Organize priorities among assignments and provide time estimates as appropriate and provide timely updates to supervisor and business as appropriate.
Work both independently and as a team member.
Troubleshooting production and user-reported problems, using knowledge of job and program logic, error messages, abend codes, JCL output, and displays.
