MDSearch is recruiting a Medical Director for one of Canada s largest care centres with coast to coast clinics. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and expanding team at the Edmonton location. Compensation is private pay daily + weekly Medical Director incentive. To be disclosed to interested candidates. A relocation incentive is available to qualified candidates within Canada.
What youll do in this role:
- Working closely with the Care Centre Manager, your role as the clinical leader is critical for positive collaboration across the healthcare team and excellence in medical care. You will couple your natural inclination for health innovation with a deep social purpose to improve the lives of Canadians through our preventive health approach.
- As part of the team you ll be responsible for the provision of personalized care to the population of patients seen in the clinic. Areas of focus include: disease prevention and health promotion
- Manage growing team physicians: Listen to and engage your team, provide leadership, support and guidance on performance, development and career growth
- Provide senior medical administrative leadership and decision-making in relation to professional and medical matters
- Identify emerging issues & ensure compliance with ethical standards, provincial and federal legislation, College Practice Guidelines
- Coordinate the development and implementation of the physician roster and scheduling plan
- Engage at the national leadership level on new service launches and innovation
Youre the missing piece of the puzzle:
- Seasoned medical practitioner with 10 years experience within the healthcare sector, with five years of previous team management experience
- You are an inspirational leader with proven ability to inspire, motivate and support the development of team members to achieve excellence in the goals of the individual, our team and our customers.
- You are able to leverage an active network and relationships to influence others
- You are a proven strategic thinker and foster collaboration, innovation and creativity in every aspect of your work
- You are an excellent problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced ever-changing environment
- You are a physician licensed to practice in the province of Alberta
- You maintain medical liability insurance coverage through Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- You are comfortable with using an EMR and workplace technology
Great-to-haves:
- Experience in preventive health care delivery would be considered an asset
