The Role

Key responsibilities:

• Promote FIS as a company; providing market intelligence and analysis to clients;
  
• Maintain and enhance existing client relationships, making regular contact and tracking daily trading activities;
  
• Drive revenue and develop and enhance client base;
  
• Understand the team s business strategy and identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients;
  
• Undertake market analysis, providing market insight and trade ideas to clients;
  
• Responsible for daily price discovery, dissemination and matching;
  
• Create and write daily market reports as required;
  
• Identify and introduce new clients to the market and maintain professional relationships;
  
• Perform any other reasonable duties the company may require.
  

Risk related responsibilities

• Support a risk and compliance aware culture and comply with FIS company policies
  
• Ensure full awareness of and adhere to internal policies that relate to the role or any relevant other activities
  

Training

• Seek regular feedback from Desk Head to ensure role requirements are met
  
• Complete any mandatory training required by the company and required deadlines
  
• Maintain own Continued Professional Development (CPD)
  

Requirements

• Demonstrate successful track record of Dry Cargo shipbroking;
  
• Strong client focus; personable and engaging building relationships and networks wherever possible;
  
• Good understanding of Dry Cargo markets essential
  
• Experience in Handymax / Supramax or Panamax vessels - essential
  
• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues combined with excellent negotiation skills;
  
• Tenacious and thrives in a pressurised environment;
  
• Naturally team oriented; works well with others and diverse groups / personalities;
  
• Excellent attention to detail; strong analytical and numeracy skills;
  
• Travel and attending client social events (subject to Covid restrictions)
