Facilities Maintenance / Laborer

Maintains industrial establishment in clean and orderly condition, performs general

maintenance on building, clean equipment, paint.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Used oil / chemical storage

Clean maintenance work areas and production work areas, pick up scrap waste and rubbish.

Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.

Perform prescribed daily preventative maintenance on machinery and the building or grounds as required.

Change Light bulbs or fixtures that connect by plug-Receptacles.

Ensure used oil / chemicals are stored and disposed of correctly

Operates waste control and replaces waste control consumables- discards waste appropriately

Operates floor scrubber, and scissor lift

Light building maintenance as directed.

Assists maintenance in repair and clean out of equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required

1-3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience is preferred

Ability to provide clear communication and feedback

Ability to problem solve and carry out instructions

Able to read, write and speak fluent English

Consistently use hands and fingers; able to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.

Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds; potentially need to move products up to 70 pounds

Ability to work in an environment with exposure to fumes and airborne particles

Able to work consistently with hearing protection and often in hot temperatures

MAINTENANCE DUTIES:

Daily

Check lights replace lights and fixtures as needed.

Empty rags cans in plant- collect rags and put in cans

If you see any areas that need cleaned or straightened up, there is usually someone working. Pay extra attention to these areas to ensure safety and cleanliness

Weekly:

Add rust preventative chemicals to final process tanks

Fill out supply list and have it returned to manager with needed supplies for the week.

(Needed by Thursday morning)

Run scrubber down aisle ways once a week

Fill salt in water softeners

Periodically (When needed):

Empty scrap pans in metal hoppers; Weigh and dump metal hoppers

File PM paperwork assigned to you

Minor cleanup outside

Paint one machine or area while maintenance is performing a major P.M.

Clean out cigarette butt containers

Check waste oil area in maintenance and production

Arrange barrels for waste oil pickup

Collect skids for disposal

Collect/inventory chemical totes for return

Collect aerosol can containers in plant and depressurize as needed.

Clean or change solvents and remove sludge in part process and dip tanks

Clean pan wash machine, associated tanks and areas

Snow removal and ice melt application of sidewalks and stairs when applicable
