ABOUT THE ROLE
Vivienne Westwood is currently looking for a Junior RTW Designer to support the Design team in our Studio located in Milan Office.
Role Overview:
The Junior RTW Designer supports the development of seasonal ready-to-wear collections contributing to research silhouette exploration and garment development in line with the houses distinctive design language. This role requires a strong sensitivity to cut proportion and historical reference combined with the ability to translate creative concepts into technically resolved garments.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the design team across all stages of RTW collection development;
Work closely with the Design Director Artistic Director Creative Director and in-house Product Development team on design development and execution;
Conduct in-depth research (historical costume tailoring archive references subcultural influences);
Assist in developing draped and constructed silhouettes;
Produce technical flats and CAD drawings;
Work closely with pattern cutters on toile development and fittings;
Prepare and update tech packs and product specifications;
Participate in fittings and document changes;
Support material research and contribute to fabric and trim development;
Maintain archive references and seasonal developments;
Ensure consistency with brand identity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent;
Strong portfolio with tailoring drape and construction;
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop;
Knowledge of garment construction and pattern cutting;
Strong attention to detail;
Fluent in English and Italian languages.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in luxury or in design RTW environment;
Exposure to fittings and toile development;
CLO 3D knowledge is a plus;
Strong awareness of sustainable practices.
