Software Engineer III, Mobile Development

As a Sr. Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Wealth Management Business (CCB) under Self Directed Investing you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Executes software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality delivery speed and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g. code generation/refactoring unit test creation documentation) while validating outputs through peer review automated testing and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities to improve the value realized by automation.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Gathers analyzes synthesizes and develops visualizations and reporting from large diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture

Required qualifications capabilities and skills:

• Build and maintain native Android applications inKotlin delivering features end-to-end from design through production release.
• ImplementAI/ML-powered mobile features integrating models/services with a focus on performance reliability and user experience.
• Apply and evolve mobile architectures (MVVM/MVP/MVC) to ensure scalable maintainable and testable codebases.
• Drive engineering excellence with modern tooling libraries and testing ( Retrofit Dagger RxJava Robolectric/Mockito/Espresso).
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g. for coding test creation troubleshooting or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate validate and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness performance and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows including data sensitivity considerations secure handling of inputs/outputs and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.
• Enable rapid reliable delivery by operating CI/CD pipelines and partnering effectively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (planning reviews iterations).
• Optimize and validate mobile code on real devices: performance tuning profiling/debugging and handling phone-specific constraints and edge cases.
• Build and maintain mobile solutions across iOS/Android with proficiency in Swift Kotlin Objective-C and Java plus working familiarity with C JavaScript Ruby and Python.
• Use Git effectively for source control (branching PRs/code reviews conflict resolution) to maintain quality and release hygiene.
• Consume and integrate RESTful web services from mobile apps and communicate clearly with business partners via phone/email to clarify requirements beyond written documentation.

Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills:

• Familiarity with how to optimize code for phones testing with phones challenges with phones
• Familiarity with several languages: Swift Kotlin Objective-C Java C JavaScript Ruby Python
• Experience with GIT source control management.
• Experience consuming RESTful web services from mobile platform
• Advanced communication skills with the ability to clarify application requirements via phone/email with business partners in addition to relying on technical requirements documentation
