Role description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecom Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and integration of telecom systems across complex infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a professional with strong technical expertise client-facing experience and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams while mentoring junior engineers.

Role accountabilities:

• Lead the development of telecom system designs for projects of varying size and complexity ensuring alignment with client objectives and project requirements.
• Support delivery across the full project lifecycle from concept development and design through implementation and operations using both established and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary design teams while providing guidance mentorship and technical support to junior engineers and less experienced colleagues.
• Apply strong expertise in telecommunications technology including industrial and commercial network systems across a diverse range of infrastructure projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

• BE / / in Electrical and Electronic Engineering / Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized university

Role Requirements:
The successful candidate will demonstrate detailed knowledge in the design and integration of telecom systems and subsystems including but not limited to the following:

Technical Systems Expertise

• Structured cabling ICT infrastructure including copper and fibre optic systems.
• Networked applications including CCTV Public Address System (PA) Access Control System (ACS) Passenger Help Points (PHP)
• Customer Information System (CIS) and clock systems.
• Wireless network architecture.
• Mobile telephony and radio systems and architectures including base station configurations and bandwidth management.
• Working knowledge of SCADA design.
• Experience in developing analysing assessing and implementing network technologies for converged networks and other network architectures.
  

Project Delivery and Infrastructure Experience

• Experience in preparing conceptual reports schematic designs project documentation specifications schedules calculations bills of materials implementation or construction plans and costings to meet client requirements.
• Experience working on large multidisciplinary infrastructure projects preferably in rail transport data center energy industrial processing and building sectors.
• Experience supporting estimates for engineering projects and tenders with regard to resources plans technology risk and process.
• Broad knowledge of telecom networks in civil construction mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
  

Stakeholder and Industry Knowledge

• Client interaction is an important part of the role and candidates must have previous experience working with clients and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with international design codes and standards.
• Preferably experience within a consultancy environment.
  

Software Proficiency

• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation is expected.
• Proficiency in 3D BIM modelling software such as Revit or OpenBuilding Designer will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in CDE environment like ACC & ProjectWise
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Visio and Outlook are expected.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
