Job Summary
As a Risk Manager for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) at Amazon you will play a key role in our commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable business practices. You will support North America compliance efforts across multi-jurisdictional EPR regulatory landscapes spanning waste streams including packaging electronics batteries and textiles.
This is a high-impact cross-functional role where you will apply your analytical skills regulatory expertise and stakeholder management abilities to develop scalable compliance solutions optimize processes and advance Amazons circular economy vision.

Regulatory Compliance & Operations
Manage end-to-end Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) selection and contracting across jurisdictions
Manage registration and reporting obligations with public authorities ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Coordinate regulatory audit responses and maintain supporting documentation
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for EPR compliance workflows
Product Classification & Data Management
Lead product classification requirements implementation and ongoing maintenance
Manage classification rules and algorithm development to ensure accurate product categorization
Establish monitoring systems to track and improve classification performance
Selling Partner Compliance
Design and execute Selling Partner compliance control frameworks
Support cross-functional teams in implementing compliance controls across product categories
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
Identify opportunities to streamline compliance processes and improve operational efficiency
Leverage data and metrics to drive continuous improvements across EPR compliance programs
About the team
Our Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) team owns Amazons global compliance strategy for EPR ensuring adherence to post-consumer waste regulations across packaging electronics batteries and textiles. Our vision is to enable circular economy value for Selling Partners Vendors and customers by connecting every product sold to verified recovery outcomes with clear auditable results. We work cross-functionally with Legal Business Product and Data Science/Engineering teams to deliver compliance programs at scale.
EPR is part of the broader Regulatory Intelligence Safety and Compliance (RISC) organization dedicated to protecting Amazon customers from products that are illegal unsafe or otherwise prohibited.
- 4 years of compliance program management legal governance audit risk/loss prevention or equivalent experience
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Experience handling confidential information
- Experience in compliance audit or risk management
- Experience in stakeholder and communication management
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications especially MS Excel Word & PowerPoint at an advanced level
- 3 years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience
- Professional auditing qualification or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with SQL and Excel
