About the role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Head to oversee the implementation of the Learning Equaliser programme aimed at building science capital among secondary school students in government schools. Working closely with Qualcomm and District Partners the Project Head will manage programme delivery across 25 intervention schools and 5 controlled schools ensuring strategic alignment high-quality implementation and measurable outcomes.
The position requires a systems-oriented programme leader capable of translating programme design into district-level implementation architecture while ensuring institutionalisation within government structures for long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Government Partnerships & System Integration
- Establish strengthen and manage strategic partnerships with State District and Block education authorities to ensure programme alignment with government priorities.
- Facilitate the integration of programme components into district education systems (annual plans budgets review mechanisms training calendars and monitoring structures).
- Support the formalisation of institutional arrangements such as MoUs district approvals convergence platforms and review forums.
- Collaborate with the State Lead and senior leadership to co-design monitoring frameworks and decision-support systems aligned to government data structures.
- Represent the organisation in district-level review meetings convergence forums and institutional consultations.
- Lead end-to-end implementation across districts ensuring fidelity to programme design across instructional gender aspiration STEM and governance workstreams.
- Operationalise district-anchored implementation architecture including TSU structures District Resource Groups micro-planning systems and quarterly review platforms.
- Oversee district readiness planning phased rollout and transition from programme-led delivery to district-owned systems.
- Coordinate with district officials to conduct science fairs training sessions career guidance series review workshops and convergence meetings.
- Ensure alignment of all programme delivery with official district calendars and governance processes.
- Design and lead capacity-building initiatives for government officials Master Trainers Head Teachers and teachers to strengthen instructional quality.
- Ensure training modules are co-led with district institutions and integrated into official training systems.
- Provide technical support to districts for classroom observation structured pedagogy adoption regrouping strategies and targeted instruction.
- Build internal team capability for high-quality delivery data use government engagement and systems-change implementation.
- Oversee the implementation of monitoring systems including dashboards observation tools assessment tracking and review protocols.
- Ensure data from schools assessments QA visits and programme components is consolidated analysed and used for decision-making.
- Lead district review discussions to identify implementation gaps and design corrective action plans.
- Coordinate structured QA visits with government officials and internal teams to maintain fidelity and standards.
- Document implementation processes lessons learned and institutionalisation milestones.
- Track budget utilisation against approved plans and milestones; ensure financial discipline and timely reporting.
- Review programme expenditures across districts and align implementation with approved financial allocations.
- Ensure partner agencies and consultants submit required financial and programmatic documentation as per agreements.
- Identify onboard and manage technical partners consultants and implementation agencies.
- Ensure deliverables are completed as per agreed timelines scope and quality standards.
- Maintain structured communication with academic partners technical institutions and ecosystem organisations.
- Lead development of district progress reports implementation documentation and evidence briefs.
- Anchor dissemination events district showcases and learning forums to share programme outcomes and models for replication.
- Contribute to policy notes integration guidelines and institutionalisation frameworks to support scale-up and government adoption.
Essential Requirements-
Education: A Masters degree in Education Management International Development or Social Sciences. Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience in managing State-wide programmes and grants in primary secondary or higher education (or any other human capability building sector) in partnership with the government.
Excellent communication skills including the ability to facilitate diverse groups. Telugu speaking abilities or a strong appetite to pick up Telugu as a new language.
