Job Summary
Product Innovation & Development
- Define and execute the NPD roadmap aligned with business strategy and market trends
- Lead design and development of new castor and wheel products (industrial institutional medical heavy-duty specialty)
- Drive material innovation-exploring polymers elastomers metals and composites for improved performance durability and cost efficiency
- Develop prototypes conduct feasibility studies and manage design iterations
- Ensure designs meet load capacity ergonomics noise reduction and application-specific requirements
Technical Leadership
- Establish design standards testing protocols and engineering best practices
- Oversee CAD/CAM design FEA/simulation and physical testing programs
- Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and smooth production transfer
- Build and maintain a technical knowledge base patents portfolio and design library
Team & Capability Building
- Recruit mentor and develop R&D engineers and technicians
- Foster a culture of experimentation continuous improvement and technical curiosity
- Set performance goals and conduct capability assessments
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to translate customer needs and feedback into product requirements
- Work with Quality to establish testing standards and resolve field issues
- Coordinate with Procurement on material sourcing and vendor development for new components
- Support Operations during pilot runs and scale-up
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure products meet relevant Indian and international standards (BIS ISO EN ANSI/BIFMA as applicable)
- Maintain comprehensive design documentation test reports and regulatory files
