About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated Junior Data Scientist to join our team to support cutting-edge engineering this role you will leverage your expertise in data analysis and machine learning to solve real-world problems in an automotive engineering context. You will collaborate closely with engineers and IT teams both locally and globally to interpret complex datasets and develop predictive models that enhance our engineering workflows. This role also involves clearly communicating your findings through effective data visualisations and reports and proposing actionable solutions based on your insights. Key Responsibilities:

• Clean analyse and interpret large scale data for engineering projects.
• Build and validate statistical analytical and machine learning models to predict engineering performance metrics.
• Work closely with simulation engineers to integrate AI/ML techniques into simulation workflows beyond simple surrogate models.
• Translate complex data findings into clear visualizations and reports. Present insights to stakeholders (engineers project managers etc.) in a clear actionable manner facilitating data-driven decision making.
• Follow the newest trends in ML and have a conceptual understanding on the topics and the ability to explain them.

• Work together with international teams to understand their data needs and help develop effective solutions alongside them.

Job requirements:

• Masters degree in computer science data science physics math or a related field.
• A strong foundation in numerical methods statistics and other related math fields is essential.
• 2 years of experience in Data Science (Industry or Academic experience).
• Proficiency in Python and experience with data manipulation analysis and visualisation libraries (e.g. Pandas NumPy Matplotlib Seaborn etc.) as well as one or more ML-libraries (e.g. Scikit-learn PyTorch Keras TensorFlow)
• Foundational understanding of SQL and ORM.
• Strong understanding and adherence to the Clean Code principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior internship or project experience in the automotive domain electric vehicles or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with vehicle data systems (e.g. CAN bus sensor data) and their analysis.
• Experience with Simulations Driven development or Digital Twins.
• Knowledge of time-series analysis predictive maintenance algorithms or other AI techniques for engineering is an advantage.
