The Production Support Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the stability reliability and performance of production environments. This role involves proactive monitoring timely resolution of incidents and seamless execution of operational tasks across infrastructure and database systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining system health supporting application deployments and ensuring compliance with security and operational standards. By collaborating closely with development operations and security teams the Production Support Engineer helps minimize downtime enhance system resilience and support continuous delivery within a dynamic high-availability environment.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and outages promptly to minimize impact.
Manage and close Level-1 Service Requests (SRs) efficiently.
Perform daily health checks on infrastructure and database servers.
Execute and track compliance activities including OS patching server maintenance and vulnerability remediation.
Support the knowledge server induction process for new systems and configurations.
Monitor alerts from monitoring tools (e.g. VuSmartmaps DynaTrace) and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution.
Schedule and follow up on planned maintenance activities including UAT signoff and production downtime approvals.
Facilitate port opening and firewall configuration processes.
Execute Change Requests (CRs) for application deployments.
Perform backend database updates and manage SQL queries.
Monitor renew and track SSL certificates.
Maintain and review backup policies to ensure data integrity and recovery readiness.
Maintain accurate system inventory and documentation.
Strong understanding of production environment operations and incident management.
Experience with monitoring tools such as VuSmartmaps DynaTrace or similar.
Hands-on experience with change management CR execution and deployment support.
Knowledge of system hardening compliance and security best practices.
Familiarity with backup strategies SSL certificate lifecycle and firewall procedures.
Basic scripting skills in Unix/Linux (preferred).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
