Cloud Engineer
Job Summary
Job Purpose: The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing implementing and supporting secure scalable cloud infrastructure aligned to enterprise architecture security standards and regulatory requirements. The role supports cloud adoption data centre migration and cloud security initiatives across the organisation.
Duties:
Design implement and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure components including VPCs subnets routing and security controls
Build and operate secure cloud landing zones aligned to enterprise and security architecture standards
Implement and manage IAM integration identity federation and leastprivilege access models
Support migration of applications and workloads from onpremise data centres to cloud platforms
Implement infrastructureascode using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
Embed cloud security controls including logging monitoring encryption and vulnerability management
Collaborate with cybersecurity and architecture teams to ensure securebydesign deployments
Troubleshoot cloud platform issues and support operational teams
Maintain documentation runbooks and architectural diagrams
Technical Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge:
Public cloud platforms (AWS mandatory; Azure/GCP desirable)
Cloud networking identity and security principles
Cloud security best practices and shared responsibility model
Skills:
InfrastructureasCode (Terraform CloudFormation ARM)
Scripting (Python Bash PowerShell)
Cloud monitoring and logging tools
Problem solving and troubleshooting
Planning and Decision Making:
- Plans and executes cloud infrastructure tasks with minimal supervision
- Makes technical decisions within defined architecture and security standards
- Escalates design or risk decisions that impact security cost or resilience
Impact and Scope:
- Direct impact on availability security and scalability of cloud services
- Supports critical business systems and transformation initiatives
- Errors or misconfigurations may impact service availability or security posture
Qualifications :
Experience:
Minimum 46 years experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure roles
Handson experience designing and operating AWS environments
Experience supporting cloud migration initiatives
