Job Summary

The Assistant Manager Purchase will be responsible for executing end-to-end purchase activities managing vendor relationships and ensuring the seamless supply of materials while optimizing costs. This role requires decent negotiation skills inventory management to support continuous plant operations without compromising on quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sourcing & Cost Optimization

  • Identify evaluate and onboard reliable vendors to establish a robust and risk-mitigated supply chain network.
  • Negotiate commercial terms price fixings and conversion costs to deliver savings
  • Update Purchase info records for all Packaging materials.

2. Vendor Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external business partners and suppliers.
  • Vendor code creation monitor vendor performance metrics regularly focusing on On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery quality consistency and lead-time adherence.
  • Address supply disruptions quality rejections or breaches of protocol with direct assertive communication and corrective action plans (CAPA).

3. Inventory Control

  • Align procurement schedules with weekly and monthly plant production plans to prevent stock-outs while minimizing inventory holding costs.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders—including Packaging Development Quality Assurance and Plant Operations—to streamline new product/SKU launches.
  • To provide all price approvals to all plants before initiating their purchasing process.

4. Systems Reporting & Compliance

  • Utilize ERP systems (specifically SAP) for creating tracking and approving Purchase Orders (POs) and maintaining accurate material master data.
  • Implement daily tracking mechanisms such as vendor dispatch reports and stock consumption sheets to maintain real-time visibility.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal procurement policies financial audits and statutory regulations.
