Broadcast Engineer Control Software Support and Commissioning


What You Will Do

As a Broadcast Engineer who specializes in control system support and commissioning, you will join one of our internal product teams. We are looking for experienced engineers who can support and commission broadcast control software deployed at advanced broadcast facilities. You are expected to apply your knowledge and experience in broadcast equipment and workflows to deliver high uptimes and superior service to field engineers.

  • Take ownership of new installations of NEP s own Control Software;
  • Take the lead in defining the workflow for the control room together with the engineering team in charge and implement NEP s own Control Software to match the requirements for the several productions involved;
  • Play an active role in supporting the various installations around the globe;
  • Configure broadcast and networking equipment in the broadcast control room that is to be controlled by the Control Software;
  • Troubleshoot any problems in the infrastructure that might occur;
  • Train the local staff on how to operate the system;
  • Document workflows and set a standard for future similar deployments;


What You Will Need

  • Advanced theoretical foundation in broadcast equipment, particularly IP equipment based on SMPTE 2110 and multicast networking including Production Switchers, Audio Consoles, Routers, Video and Processing Hardware, Record and Replay (EVS. LiveTouch),ST2110, SDI, NDI, Tallies, GPIO Control, Timing and Phasing, Industry Protocols (NMOS, Ember+, SWP08, TSL, DMX), Serial Protocols and Communication;
  • Deep understanding of how broadcast systems are integrated and the production workflows within OB and Studio facilities;
  • Capable to identify and mitigate risk;
  • Experience with media, broadcast or live events is essential;
  • Interest in DevOps, Enterprise Virtual Computing,Kubernetes, containers, microservices will be attractive.
