About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Operations Specialist to join our Devices & Services (D&S) Technical Operations team.
This role is crucial for ensuring the successful execution and operational excellence of hardware product manufacturing builds in Asia. You will be responsible for providing on-the-ground technical and operational support to Contract Manufacturing partners ensuring process compliance addressing technical issues during NPI builds and managing production ramp-up.
Responsibilities
Design for Excellence (DfX)
Assist in the Design for Manufacturability (DfM) reviews of product designs. Proactively provide and track feasibility feedback to the Product Design and Engineering teams utilizing CAD/CAE tools to review and interpret mechanical designs.
Manufacturing Process & Fixtures
Assist in the design review qualification and deployment of assembly fixtures and tooling based on product design and assembly requirements. Develop and optimize assembly processes for NPI builds Conduct DOEs and collaborate with XFN teams
Manufacturing Execution
Provide immediate on-site technical support during critical builds. Resolve all technical issues experienced during an NPI build.
Operational Program Management
Track and manage critical manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as yield cost and schedule adherence.
Quality & Process Control
Assist in statistical analysis of manufacturing data using tools like JMP or Minitab. Define and monitor critical
quality metrics including Process Capability Index (Cpk).
Drive Continuous Process Improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes.
Localization & Supplier Support
Liaise with local Chinese equipment suppliers and CM engineering teams to resolve technical and logistical issues rapidly.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
Demonstrable proficiency with CAD/CAE software such as Siemens NX or SolidWorks for design review and data analysis
6 years of experience in technical operations process engineering or manufacturing engineering preferably within the consumer electronics industry.
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (written and spoken) to effectively communicate with local partners and the core US-based team.
Experience supporting NPI and high-volume manufacturing in a CM environment
Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working as a Temporary Vendor Contractor or similar temporary status within a multinational tech company.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced high-pressure manufacturing environment
