The purpose of this role is to help build and run the LMEs new application hosting platform driving the adoption of Kubernetes based technologies and other automation tools to allow us to manage our hardware and environments using industry leading tooling.
The role includes developing and supporting our private cloud infrastructure including the low latency estate designing and deploying new capabilities onto the platform automating internal processes and supporting user adoption of our new software defined infrastructure.
Job Duties:
Responsibilities:
You will work within the Deploy Platform team developing and supporting our strategic private cloud infrastructure (currently based on Red Hat OpenShift) including:
Building maintaining and supporting the Private Cloud Kubernetes solution.
Extending the capabilities provided withing the Private Cloud solution by deploying commercial open-source and in-house developed solutions.
Integrating the Kubernetes environment with other on-premises infrastructure and management tooling
Delivering core platform services to be consumed across the LME infrastructure (e.g. development environments secrets management observability)
Providing out of hours live support for the Private Cloud environment
Assisting application teams develop and deploy their applications on the Private Cloud solution
Supporting the virtualisation team migrate and run our Virtual Machine estate on Red Hat Openshift.
Deploy configuration and code changes in all environments including production and our critical low-latency exchange platform
Ensuring that the security of both the platform and applications being deployed onto it is maintained during all developments
Required Knowledge and Level of Experience:
Degree in Computer Science IT or related disciplines
Minimum 3 years experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters and containers
Minimum 3 years experience in DevOps IaC or automation tools
Good understanding of on-premises hosting infrastructure including x64 servers networking storage
Experienced in managing infrastructure as code and using automation tools
Broad knowledge of application architecture and associated services (DNS load-balancing high availability multi-site deployments security tools etc.)
Desirable Skills
Managing environment using Infrasture as Code (IaC) approaches
Use and configuration of observability tools - Grafana/Prometheus/Loki
Integrating with a secrets manager to store sensitive information e.g. Hashicorp Vault
