Overview
In Business since 1919 and still growing Arrow is a leader in bulk commodity hauling reload operations freight management logistics consulting and technology with operations throughout Canada and the U.S.
We are looking for an experienced Welder to join us and become part of our Arrow family in Chilliwack BC.
Arrow Welders are responsible for performing skilled welding fabrication and repair work on trucks trailers and other mobile equipment in a busy shop environment. The Welder collaborates with the shop foreman and other team members to ensure all repairs and modifications are completed efficiently and accurately contributing to the reliability and performance of the fleet.
Responsibilities
Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations
Follow all workplace safety policies and compliance regulations participate in identifying hazards
Communicateany unsafe conditions or accidents/injuriesin a timely mannerto the supervisorin order tofacilitateprompt correction or reporting.
Comply with all rules and regulations protocols and established metrics
Read and interpret drawings blueprints and welding process specifications
Operate welding equipment and manual flame-cutting equipment
Conduct repairs modifications and retrofits
Assist in development of repair estimates
Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues
Maintain a working knowledge of changes inwelding compliancepracticesand techniques
Ensures accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations decrease turnaround times streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
Ability to effectively and efficiently prioritize daily work
Accurate completion of work orders and time cards
May be askedto cross trainonother/all functions at facility
Other assigned work as required
You Possess
Interprovincial Red Seal or Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) A/B/C level certification;
Proficient in all-position welding with demonstrated experience using MIG TIG and ARC processes
Experience with repair of commercial trailers
Fluent in English with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Computer literate
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical to meet bona fide job requirements
Welding experience preferred (5 years considered an asset)
Experience performing routine maintenance operations considered an asset
Strong safety mindset with a consistent focus on quality and attention to detail
Dependable accountable and professional with a strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Able to work independently take initiative and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving organizational and interpersonal skills; adaptable and effective working under pressure
