We are currently looking for a dedicated temporary Welder who will be responsible for a variety of welding related duties in the field at Imperial Oil Kearl site.

Industry Leading Wage: $70.19 - $77.99/hour
Continuous Shift Premium: $3.50/hour
Night Shift Premium: $3.50/hour
Flexible Shift Rotations/Shift Rotation: 14x14
Camp and Customer Flights Provided

If you are a safety conscious team player self-motivated detail-oriented and possess your Journeyperson Welding certification with a valid drivers license then you are exactly who we are looking for

Basic Functions:

• Weld and repair Caterpillar equipment
• Ensure jobs are planned organized and all required parts and tooling are accessible
• Minimize downtime and maintain production requirements as scheduled
• Examine and diagnose machine defects repair damage and cracks when necessary
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
• Maintain safe work practices
• Assist in training directing and development of team members on the job
• Other work assigned as required

Qualifications:

• Journeyperson Welder Technician certification
• Certified in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
• CWB tickets will be considered an asset
• Valid class 5 drivers license with a successful recent drivers abstract
• Individual will be required to be highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
• Ability to work well under pressure and without supervision.
• Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing will be necessary for successful candidacy
• Line boring experience will be considered an asset
• Previous field experience will be considered an asset

Important Detail:

• This temporary position is located at Kearl Facility (D05) on a 14x14 continuous day/night shift rotation
• Successful candidate will be required to stay in camp while on shift. Customer flights provided from Edmonton or Calgary
• A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug Alcohol and fitness testing)
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
