Job Summary
TheEngineering SystemsSpecialist Electricalworks within the Quality Engineering department at the Honda Canada National Office (HCI). Theforemostresponsibilityof this positionistodrivecontinuous quality improvement for the Canadianautomotive market.Asa specialist inelectrical components andsystems thisroleprimarilyfocuses onareas such ascontrol modules wiring harnessesmotorized componentsswitches/controlsadvanceddriver-assistancesystems(ADAS)cameras radarsHVAC etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conductmarketdata analysis to define and prioritize commonly occurring quality issues.
Perform technical investigations on failed parts orvehicle systemstoidentifyrootcause.
Develop test plans to replicate real-world vehicle usage conditions within a controlled environment.
Useappropriate measurementequipment to quantifyvehicle performance andcompare itto acceptable specifications.
Coordinate and perform field visits as necessary for technical investigations.
Generate technical reports to communicateCanadianquality issuesand investigation findingstoother departments within Honda.
Work collectively with external departments (R&D factories etc.) toensure progressofcountermeasure activities.
Validate quality improvement countermeasures to judgeoverall effectiveness.
Generatetechnicalservice publications for dealers outlining new and revised repairprocedures.
Provide technical supportas neededtoothergroups within Honda Canada including TechLine FieldEngineering Specialists Customer Relations Product Planning Publications Sales Advertising Training and Legal.
Occasionallyassistinvestigations in other vehicle categories (engine chassisinterior exterior infotainment) asrequired.
QUALIFICATIONS:
University Degree - Engineering preferably in AutomotiveElectrical MechanicalorSystem Design.
3 years of automotive or relatedexperiencecombined with strong project management capability.
Professional Engineering designationor eligibilityintheprovince of Ontario is desirable.
Skilled in analyzing parts for the purpose ofdeterminingcause of failure.
Understanding ofcore electrical principles with ability to perform basic electrical troubleshooting including understanding of electrical drawings.
Strong understanding of vehicle electrical architectures (12Vsystems and high-voltage EV systems)
Familiarity withgoverning principles of HVACandknowledge of vehicle components related to heating and air conditioning.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with vehicle repair/problem diagnosis from prior work experience.
Proven interest and ability to learn new vehicle technologies.
Self-starterabletobuild collaborative relationships withexternal teams and use effectivecommunicationtechniquestoreport and resolvequality issues.
Strong writtenandverbal communication skillsincluding experience in preparing technical documents.
Experience in MS Office including Excel WordPowerPointand Access.
Strong analytical planning organization and strategic skills.
Valid G drivers license.
Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.
Willing and able to work overtime on short notice.
Developandmaintaingood working relationshipswithall members of the team.
Developestablishandmaintaingood workingrelationshipswithexternalsuppliers partners consultantsstakeholdersand other network contacts.

HIRING PRACTICES
The salary range for this position is $87300- $109100 CAD annually. Individual salaries within this range aredeterminedby a variety of job-related factors including education experience knowledge and skill set.
This is an on-site with occasional work-from-home position that requires employees to work on-site four days per week with the opportunity towork-from-home one day per week(with a dedicated workspace at the assigned company office).
