Graham is actively recruiting a Senior Environmental Specialist to support the Infrastructure Division. Reporting to the Environmental Manager this role supports the day-to-day delivery and continuous improvement of the projects Environmental Management System (EMS).
Your Role in Building What Matters From Office to Site
- Maintain compliance with the Environmental Management System (EMS) by ensuring all project activities meet contractual regulatory and Graham environmental requirements.
- Support environmental requirements across all project phases including preconstruction procurement and construction with responsibility for permitting approvals monitoring and reporting.
- Lead environmental monitoring and inspections covering erosion and sediment control water quality waste and materials management wildlife protection spill prevention/response and sustainability commitments.
- Conduct regular field inspections and site assessments to confirm construction activities comply with environmental legislation Environmental Management Plans and contractual obligations.
- Advise project teams on environmental performance identifying nonconformances recommending corrective actions and supporting continuous improvement.
The Right Tools for the Job
- Education: Degree or diploma in Environmental Engineering Environmental Science Environmental Studies Environmental Management Ecology Biology or a related field; professional certifications ( CET ISO CANCISEC) are considered assets.
- Experience: 5 years of environmental monitoring experience in construction or consulting environments
- Skills: Strong working knowledge of environmental legislation permitting inspections erosion and sediment control and compliance reporting.
Compensation
- Salary Range $115000 to $130000 per annum
- Compensation aligned to education and experience ensuring fair and competitive placement
- Three to five weeks of vacation with additional credit for prior industry experience
